Here are some finishes from a lettering project for a wedding.
The client gave no direction, so I did what I usually end up doing in these situations and kind of watched as the ideas took form on the screen. I can't really explain it how it happens. I don't sketch out ideas and rarely look at inspiration when I'm working on something personal. I know, I know - I'm supposed to be getting all romantic and shit about my influences and inspiration so I sound legit. But more often than not, that's not how it works for me. It's like I draw upon all the things I already have floating around in my brain and come up with something that surprises even me.
If only I could do this for most jobs!
Anyway, this was so much fun to work on.
(The client was very happy with them, BTW)
I'm not obsessed with my delectable, teeny-tiny, superstar of a chihuahua. No, not at all. Those of you who've met her will totally understand. (If you need to see more check out missziss on Instagram and Viddy.)
I can't tell you how many people email me about this whenever it's happening. Late last year I decided to order a book and get to work. You have to pick a theme to loosely base your work around. I chose: In Ten Minutes, because that's 9 minutes more than I like to spend on a drawing. Zing! But seriously folks, I just like to put it down and move on. I'm posting some selected images here. For the entire book check out this link. (this is my favorite drawing)
